The alpine desert, with its barren, otherworldly beauty, leads climbers closer to the summit, where the white snow and ice create an ethereal atmosphere. Cultural Experience: While the natural beauty of the Machame Route is undoubtedly captivating, it is equally matched by the cultural experiences along the way. Interacting with the local Chagga people, who have inhabited the slopes of Kilimanjaro for centuries, offers a unique insight into their way of life, traditions, and warm hospitality.
