About The Northern Circuit Kilimanjaro Climbing Tour

The Northern Circuit is a relatively new addition to the options available for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. It is known for its exceptional scenic beauty, diverse ecosystems, and extended trekking duration, making it perfect for those who wish to savor every moment of their journey. This route takes you through the less explored northern slopes of the mountain, allowing you to witness stunning landscapes and encounter diverse wildlife along the way. One of the notable features of the Northern Circuit is its longer duration compared to other routes. The extended trekking period of around nine to ten days provides climbers with ample time for acclimatization, increasing the chances of a successful summit. This gradual ascent reduces the risk of altitude sickness and enhances the overall enjoyment of the climb. The Northern Circuit offers a variety of breathtaking landscapes, from lush rainforests to alpine meadows and rugged moorlands. As you ascend, you'll pass through different climate zones, each with its distinct flora and fauna. The unique diversity of this route makes it an ideal choice for nature enthusiasts who appreciate the beauty and intricacy of the natural world. Another advantage of the Northern Circuit is its lower number of climbers compared to the more popular trails. This means you'll have more solitude and tranquility during your journey, allowing for a deeper connection with the mountain and its surroundings. The pristine and untouched nature of this route adds to its appeal, giving you a sense of exclusivity and adventure. While the Northern Circuit offers a remarkable experience, it is important to note that it is more challenging than some of the other routes on Kilimanjaro. The longer duration and varied terrain require a higher level of physical fitness and mental determination. However, with proper preparation and guidance from experienced guides, climbers of moderate fitness levels can still undertake this incredible journey. As you reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, the sense of accomplishment and awe-inspiring views will make every step worthwhile. The panoramic vistas from Uhuru Peak, the highest point on the mountain, are simply breathtaking, offering a glimpse of the vastness and beauty of Tanzania below.

The Overview 8-Days Northern Circuit Kilimanjaro Climbing Tour

The North Circle Route is the newest and best route to Mount Kilimanjaro. This is because it combines the best elements of other trails into one amazing hike. If you are looking for beautiful scenery, lots of solitude, a health challenge and the opportunity to see wildlife, this is the route for you. The northern loop followed the same route as the Lemosho route the other day, but instead of staying on the south side of Kibo, it switched to the little-used northern route. There are very few hikers on this route, so the campsite is quiet, peaceful and almost uninhabited. Because the northern circuit route is longer than other routes, hikers have the opportunity to see more of the mountain. Not only will they have the chance to cross the impressive Shira Plateau, but they will also see Kibo and Uhuru peaks along the way.
It also offers magnificent views of the open plains to the north of the mountain that few other hikers see when climbing Kilimanjaro. North Kilimanjaro Circuit Road has the highest bypass rate of 98% and is close to South Kilimanjaro. This is the newest and longest route and offers the most amazing 360 degree views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Climbing Kilimanjaro by this route takes 8-9 days to reach the summit.
Due to its longer length, most of which fluctuate around the same elevation for better acclimatization, the Northern Loop route has the highest completion rate of all Kilimanjaro routes. The route starts at the Londorosi gate and climbs the western side of the mountain, through the rainforest and up to Shira Ridge. From here, start at Shira Hill, then head north, then turn clockwise from Moir Hut, then Buffalo Camp, and finally School Hut. Along the way, hikers travel almost 360 degrees around Mount Kilimanjaro, eventually reaching the east.
